TGF Fantasy Football – GW5 Preview

TGF FANTASY FOOTBALL – GW5 PREVIEW

It was goals galore in the Premier League last weekend and a really thrilling week for FPL players. There was yet again another change at the top of The Garage Flower’s league, as Arun Kumar took the top spot. He’s closely followed by two former leaders, Amanina Sabki and Jack Cousin. It’s not tight at the bottom though, with Liam Dawson trailing by some distance to Adam Chambers & Brendan Ferguson.

As ever, it’s time to take a look ahead to this weekend; which kicks-off on a Friday so don’t forget that your deadline this week in 7pm. Let’s take a look at who should and shouldn’t be in your team this gameweek.

IN – Davide Zappacosta £6.0m

Arguably an underwhelming signing for Antonio Conte’s men on deadline day, the Italian reunited was with one of his former Italy players. The wing-back has shown great potential in Italy and even grabbed a goal – albeit contentious in reference to if it was a shot or not – in midweek as Chelsea got their Champions League off to to flying start. Zappacosta’s price many put you off but he’s sure to get games this season and often in a strong Chelsea back-line; Conte may also need the defender’s prowess against Arsenal this weekend.

OUT – Hector Bellerin £5.9m

Arsenal rarely do well against Chelsea. It’s almost a given that they’ll struggle, in whatever circumstances. In more specific terms, the Spanish defender has not had the best of starts this season. Against Chelsea, he’s likely to be facing both Marcos Alonso & Eden Hazard. That doesn’t bode well for Bellerin picking up points this weekend and with the tribulations of Thursday night, it could be a very tough afternoon for him and his fellow Arsenal defender.

IN – Dele Alli £9.5m

After Spurs’ rocky start, the North Londoners have found their rhythm. After some tough fixtures to begin with, it’s now a great opportunity for Spurs to kick-on. Alli should be guaranteed points as he aims for an abundance goals & assists. Harry Kane is back firing and Christian Eriksen is also in-form which all bodes well for the former MK Dons youngster.

OUT – Paul Pogba £8.3m

This may have slipped past many but after a magnificent start to the season, Pogba has picked up an injury. As much as José Mourinho aims to hide the fact extent of his men’s injuries, the Frenchman is definitely out for this weekend’s match. It’s best to ship him out and find a replacement fast.

IN – Gabriel Jesus £10.4m

For the price Manchester City paid for the Brazilian last campaign, Jesus looks like a bargain. The forward is forming a great partnership with Sergio Agüero and the pair are certainly scoring goals. He’s not the cheapest option out there but it’s definitely someone guaranteed points.

OUT – Wayne Rooney £7.6m

The Croxteth-born striker has certainly been in the headlines in recent weeks. Everton have internally disciplined their returning signing. After two consecutive 3-goal defeats in the Premier League & Europa League, Everton are not in good shape to travel to Rooney’s old stomping ground; Old Trafford, this Sunday. He performed well last time out in Manchester but he could be dropped or play-out a frustrating performance which doesn’t look good for FPL players.
