TGF Fantasy Football – GW2 Preview

After what was a sensational opening weekend in the Premier League, it only further stirred the Fantasy Football world. As we will do here at The Garage Flower each gameweek, here are some suggestions for your Fantasy Football team this weekend. Hopefully, it can tempt you into using those-all important transfers already. Of course, any suspensions or major injuries are a given in terms of who to take out. However, you may miss some smaller news on players throughout the week.
We’ll also be providing updates for The Garage Flower’s League simultaneously. As it stands, Bruce Chambers sits at the top of the league with an absolutely outstanding first gameweek as he hits the 100 point mark already. At the bottom, our very own Lewis Ridley takes the infamous spot after this gameweek just didn’t go his way; leaving his score to match his position.
IN: Romelu Lukaku – £11.6m

IN: Romelu Lukaku – £11.6m

Reaching 87 career Premier League goals last weekend, Manchester United’s new number 9 is in good form. A trip to Swansea this weekend will have the Belgian chomping at the bit to continue that form. With United up and running, and Swansea’s sucker punch this week as Gylfi Sigurdsson departed, Lukaku is sure to impress once again.

OUT: Cesar Azpilicueta – £6.5m

Chelsea had a disastrous opening match last weekend that saw 2 red cards for the blues and 3 goals scored against them from Burnley. The usually strong Chelsea defence was stripped bare and a visit to Wembley in this weekend to face Tottenham means it will be unlikely Antonio Conte’s men can repeat their April FA Cup heroics in the repeat of the fixture. With Bakayoko & Hazard still out injured and Cesc Fabregas & Gary Cahill suspended, David Luiz may have to partner N’Golo Kanté in a midfield which will be integral in facing arguably Spurs’ strongest position on the pitch. Therefore, versatile man Azpilicueta may be the man to either take a hit in terms of formation or be tasked with controlling Harry Kane. It’s not the weekend for any Chelsea defenders, none more so than the vulnerable Spaniard.

IN: Jamie Vardy – £8.6m

After a less-overwhelming season last time out, the former non-league man managed to get back in the goals at the Emirates. With a home match against a depleted West Brom side, Vardy will be keen to take his chance. Leicester seem rejuvenated this season and the Englishman could return to talisman status in the coming weeks.

OUT: Victor Lindelöf – £5.4m

Most likely, anyone who chose the Swedish defender in their team may have been quietly confident in their purchase. However, after José Mourinho’s comments that Lindelöf isn’t ready for the Premier League, it looks likely the ball-playing centre-back won’t be near United’s team for a while in an already competitive defensive United at Old Trafford.

IN: Dele Alli – £9.5m

As previously mentioned, Chelsea’s midfield and defence have suffered as of late and after a goal, last weekend, Alli, along with his fellow midfielders, will surely be ravenous for Sunday’s match at home to Chelsea. The 3-pronged attack of Alli, Eriksen and Kane will no doubt strike fear into their opponents. With the England international already being fairly well accustomed to Wembley compared to many of his teammates, the young star could really come into his own this weekend.

OUT: Wilfried Zaha – £7m

An under-the-radar injury announced may have slipped by many who had Zaha in their team as his side face a trip to Anfield this weekend. The winger will be out for up to 4 weeks following assessments this week. He could have caused Jürgen Klopp’s side problems and others following this weekend but don’t be fooled by the mere amber injury flag in the coming weeks.
