Kendal Calling: Thursday

It’s the first day of KC 2017, here’s what you need to know…

Here’s some information on Opening Times and Entry. If you’re camping, you can find everything you need to know here.

Should you be one of the lucky few that will come through the gates today, you’ll catch Bristol’s The Shimmer Band opening the Main Stage. They’ve released 5 singles to date, the latest of which is ‘What Is Mine?’, they show off a big, electronic sound to kick off the weekend. British Sea Power are KC favourites and they’re also on the Main Stage before Fightened Rabbit, the Scottish indie band the final act before a stellar double-header. The Happy Mondays appeared at the festival in 2014 and they’re back again this year. ‘Step On’, ‘Kinky Afro’ and ’24 Hour Party People’ will soundtrack the evening before Franz Ferdinand take to the stage to headline. The Glasgow band are fronted by Alex Kapranos and will reel off hits from their 4 albums including 2004’s self-titled debut.
