Wakefield Punk Rock is alive and well with The Cribs, they’ve announced the release of their 7th album, ’24-7 Rock Star Shit’ for release on August 11th.
Their last LP, ‘For All My Sisters’ was released in 2015 and since then the band have teased fans in between gigs and festival appearances. It was a year on Saturday since The Cribs played in Leeds’ Millenium Square in a ‘homecoming’ gig of sorts.
“The most in-your-face, honest and real record we have ever made.” @thecribs on Instagram
The album is available as part of deluxe bundles and in vinyl as a black LP or splatter printed vinyl. Posting on Instagram, @thecribs said:
“Recorded by Steve Albini, it’s a return to our roots and the raw approach we took on our first two records in 2004 and 2005. It just felt like it was time to get back to that and re-capture the immediacy and excitement of our live shows, y’know? So we just booked into the studio for five days and left with an album that is probably the most in-your-face, honest and real record we have ever made.”
