After releasing the first string of acts on the 9th February including headliners; James, The Vaccines, Elbow, Kaiser Cheifs and Snoop Dogg, the Kendal Calling team have announced more top notch additions to celebrate their 10th birthday from Thursday 30th July to 2nd August this year at Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District.
The first set of act at the festivals’ main dance music stage The Glow Tent were announced at midday today; with electronic duo Groove Armada the stand out name from today’s announcement. Down the billing are Redlight and Shy FX with Bondax and Friends presenting Maribou State amongst others.
On the main stage, ‘blossoming’ Manchester band Blossoms feature before Tim Booth and co. on the Thursday night as well as Sunset Sons. Beatboxer Beardyman returns to Kendal Calling for the first time since 2011 to join already announced acts such as Kodaline, Levellers, The Horrors and Embrace.
Home of “Damn fine coffee and the best Cherry Pie in town”, Tim Burgess’ Tim Peaks Diner has been a fantastic feature at the festival in recent years, and the cafe and live venue will host Thursday nights’ Blossoms as well as Prince Fatty feat. Horsemen and Whitey and Simon from Kaiser Chiefs heading up to the top of the hill for a DJ set. Keep an eye out for some very special guests as well, in recent years the likes of Kyle Falconer from The View have popped up from the main stage for acoustic sessions – so the likes of Guy Garvey and the lads from The Vaccines might be up there at some point over the weekend at one of the best places in the fields.
