Track Review – Circa Waves “T Shirt Weather”

Sometimes you come across a track that makes your day, and yesterday the new single by Liverpool band Circa Waves did exactly that.

It’s nostalgic of summertime and has that feel good factor that you often need at this time of year. It sparks feelings of sun, friends and good music; which to me alone seems to define summer more and more every year.

Much can be said for other up and coming indie bands, and at the moment the Catfish and The Bottlemen bandwagon is packed to the rafters. But step away from sexed-up teenagers and listen to a band who seem so fresh and so confident in their calm yet fast-paced approach to take their city’s bustling but often contained music scene to the world again.

A 10 date UK tour (they play the 02 Academy in Liverpool on Saturday 11th April) is followed by trips to France, Belgium, Austria, The Netherlands, Italy and Germany.
Full details can be found here:

The track is taken from the album “Young Chasers”, which is out on March 30th. The album is my early tip for album of the year, and I’d also say there’s absolutely no doubt they’ll shine at festivals over the summer as well.

Take a look for yourself, “T-Shirt Weather” is available on YouTube along with some of their other material here.
