Preview – The Killers at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow

On Tuesday, supported by Miles Kane and The Courteeners, The Killers are set to play the biggest gig in Glasgow since The Stone Roses played Glasgow Green (commonly referred to as the best day of my life).
Las Vegas’ The Killers performances across the Atlantic are few and far between and it may prove the last chance to see them for many British fans as rumours that the end of their career is nigh have circulated around the US. Playing at V Festival, their set featured an array of hits ranging from their debut “Hot Fuss” to the latest album “Battle Born”.
It is an important gig for the two support acts however, both Miles Kane and The Courteeners have previously been a great distance from cracking the US and are relatively unknown. For The Courteeners, especially (who I continue to referred to with the “The” after last years’ dropping of the word to just “Courteeners”) a friendly word and a good performance aside one of the biggest bands to come out of America could mean popularity in the states.
As per usual, however, the majority of the crowd will be in Bellahouston Park to see The Killers and if Brandon Flowers’ stage presence is at it’s usual best, the thousands will leave having witnessed one of the gigs of the year.
