Currently one of the coolest men in music, Merseysider Miles Kane was an outstanding act on Sunday’s bill. With a now large following helped by supporting such bands as The Courteeners and appearing with the Arctic Monkeys, he has asserted himself as one of the top acts in current British music.
Wearing yet another outrageous shirt and beginning with “Inhaler”, Miles soon energised a crowd who in the most were feeling very damp and slightly sorry for themselves. For any of the crowd who hadn’t listened to Miles previously, his traditional partial cover of “Sympathy For The Devil” in “Give Up” was a highlight, but his own tracks and the energy in which they were performed were surely enough to attract even more fans.
Finishing the set with “Come Closer” allowed the few hundred fans at the front to repeat the songs refrain well after Miles had left the stage, a telling sign of a successful performance.
Miles Kane is supporting The Killers with The Courteeners at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow on 19th August, both a preview and a review of this event will follow.
